About the Event

Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members.

The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time.  It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration.

It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening. You don’t want to miss it!

  • Welcome reception Thursday, October 6th, 2011
  • Event starts on Friday, October 7th, 2011
  • Jupiter Hotel  | 800 E Burnside, Portland, OR 97214

The Portlandia Take

A gathering of the most interesting infosec minds in Portland and the Pacific Northwest! Our passion about all things security will even drive attendance from other parts of the country.

Our goal is to provide an open environment for the infosec community to engage in conversations, learn from each other and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.

A Different Kind of Event

BSides Portland will have a variety of activities to provide an opportunity to network and meet other like-minded individuals. Some of the activities include:

  • Welcome Reception at the hip Courtyard of the Jupiter Hotel | Thursday Oct 6th @ 6-10 pm
  • Technical and business presentations – our only requirement is that they are engaging and fun!

Fun events not to be missed:

  • Closing party with music, cool prizes and free drinks!
  • We are also having a Welcome Reception on October 6, 2011.  RSVP at http://bsidesportlandwelcome.eventbrite.com
